Projected Image Club Competition Guidelines
Here are the guidelines for preparing and submitting your pictures for our Projected Image Compeitions.
How do I prepare my pictures?
First put your pictures into a folder. The name of the folder should be your name, for example, if your name is Bilbo Baggins, then call the folder 'Bilbo Baggins'.
Your pictures should be jpgs, size them to around 1200 x 800, maximum quality. Name each picture with your competition number and the title. For example, I am going to enter three pictures of the sky and so I have named them as follows, the first number is my competition number and then there is the picture's title, I have used spaces between each word:
135 View of a Blue Sky
136 A Beautiful Sunset
137 Another Beautiful Sunset
Where do I send them?
With your three pictures in a folder, you may zip / compress the folder and so make a zip file.
How big should my pictures be?
You can adjust your image for the best resolution but if this is something that you can't do, don’t worry, send the image in anyway. A good size is around 1200 x 800 pixels,
The competition software will make its best effort to resize your image to the required size and most of the time that will be perfectly acceptable.
However if that does not work, if your image is too large or too small, then it may not look its best: straight edges may be zaggy or the image will become pixelated.
What format should my pictures be?
Please send your files as JPEGs and create / save them as maximum quality.
- Your pictures should be jpegs, around 1200 x 800 pixels (there is some flexiblity).
- Put three pictures in folder and then put them in your club's Dropbox folder if you have one. If you don't have one, get a Dropbox account and share a folder with [email protected], or email them in to [email protected]

- We prefer www.dropbox.com for submitting entries because it is reliable and avoids problems with emailing attachments. You can easily create an account, invite [email protected] to share a folder with you, put your zip file in the folder and we can pick up for the competition.
- Alternatively you may put your pictures on a USB or CD and bring it to club on the Tuesday before a digital competition.
- You can also try emailing them to [email protected]
